Jon.

What does the list look like now mate ?

And before you even mention it, I take full responsibility for the broken screen on Saturday. I'm the twat that broke it ! Sincere apologies.

Would you like help sourcing another or are you ok for one ?

Either way, I'm more than happy to come over to Combe on Saturday and stick me hand in me pocket for a spin in yer motor.

And you make a great cuppa tea bud.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Pictures aren't the greatest as it was wet and horrible but here's how my day went:

Started of in the DB7 purely as I've never been in one before, got to say it was very comfortable and civilised, and it would have been all too easy to forget that it was a 400bhp monster if it wasn't for the fact that we ended up exiting quarry backwards.

I then moved on to the SR4 driven by the stunning Rachel, seriously impressive especially when we blasted past the SR3, I can see how she won the championship.

Watching Luti going sideways through camp was amusing.

But then these two TM nutters took to the track in a little old metro

There driving style varied from, opposite lock

to barely on the track

to god only knows what they're up to

I have to take my hat off to Mr Flanigan.

I have never, ever, been so impressed by somebody's driving as I was when I went out with Jon at Combe today.

Jon's Metty is a superb track tool and the level of grip in the wet was truly amazing, even when we were 2ft away from the rear bumper of a Ferrari 355 at full chat going into Bobbies, with Jon's car suffering an intermittent misfire !

Luckily, the lack of sparks seemed to clear. Good job really, it gave me more time to appreciate Mr F's subtle driving style ! (ie, we spent most of the time sideways !).

I can remember seeing Rob H with his camera at some point on the hill but everything seemed just a blurr !

Fair play Jon, it's been a hard few weeks prepping the car (accompanied by the tow car trouble last night) but reassuringly, the Metty went like a rocket today accompanied by top instruction on how to get round Combe in one piece. I don't know how the car survives that kind of abuse, particulary on and off the rumble strips, but it was truly stunning.

Definitely the best 20 quid ever spent - I'll be back next tear to sample the remainder .......

Jon - you are a gentleman and a scholar.

VMT from me.

Big respect.

Also a big thanks to Bacon Boy, Jim, who was also out in his Metty Turbo with Jon today. All for a great cause lads. Cheers.

Cheers for the pics Rob.

Glad you enjoyed the drive Richard, shame it was wet when you came out, it dried up a treat in the afternoon so the real grip could be felt...

A great day and thanks for all the TM members that made it possible by helping out last weekend..

Oh, they were great cakes Richard!!
