I've doug the box out and started counting, then the phone wrang, then wifey start talking at me, then the phone rang again, then on the 14th or 15th attempt I got pissed of and stoppedd...

Motorway is such a boaring road, I find myself falling asleep. The 3.7 keeps things interesting on the A and B roads, no need to think about changing gear too often, and goes like shit off a shovel. As long as you are prepaired to avoid the motorways and experience the world, you won't regret it 
That tall first however would be beneficial

Unfortunatly the van has to earn it's keep, so it needs to be driveable at motorway speeds....

Fuel economy is what you worry about when youve got no petrol.
