I've doug the box out and started counting, then the phone wrang, then wifey start talking at me, then the phone rang again, then on the 14th or 15th attempt I got pissed of and stoppedd...

It's either 3.647:1 or 3.765:1. So useless.... Time for a new CW&P!

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

That's what the box came from and where it will be going again. Allthough it will have slightly more power than when it was nailed to a low comp 998!

The van will be getting turboed though and it still needs to be driveable....

Doesnt the 998E have a 2.95?

Yep. I remember it being a 3.1 but in hindsight it was a 2.95 as I kept the final drive for use in my mega project.....

Until I decided it was a low use all out job and to run a 2.54 first with a 3.7FD on 10" wheels.

All academic as it's all in boxes still.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

Dont know what you mean*tongue* The 3.7 or there abouts is so much fun. Motorway is such a boaring road, I find myself falling asleep. The 3.7 keeps things interesting on the A and B roads, no need to think about changing gear too often, and goes like shit off a shovel. Granted I have an extra 2k rpm to keep it going. How do you think the DON get the times it does *wink*

As long as you are prepaired to avoid the motorways and experience the world, you won't regret it*happy*

That tall first however would be beneficial*oh well*

Unfortunatly the van has to earn it's keep, so it needs to be driveable at motorway speeds....

EDIT: It also needs to retain some fuel economy....

I picked up a 3.1 CWP with a diff at MITP today. The trader said it came out of a 998e....

Fuel economy is what you worry about when youve got no petrol.
and
+1 on seeing the world and avoiding highways
