If you pull No3 and No5 off do you mean you just pull off the pipe and leave it or do you block the No3 No5 holes? If you just pull the hose off and leave the pipes open then your sucking in air via No5 leaning things off and your fuel bowl won't be pressurised. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

its a long shot, but you could check for air leaks in the gaskets aswell? Edited by Johnny on 26th Aug, 2009. |

If thats the case it wont start with them joined together, it starts when I leave them both open and when I block no3 the revs pick up really high. thanks Darren http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/hh167/boz-reb-2303/

No 3 and No 5 should both be blocked off if their not joined to each other if that makes sense. Other than the high idle (what's the idle screw set at?), what's it like with No 3 and 5 both blocked off? On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Ok Ive had a spare hour and its not raining so ive tryed starting the van and it will only start with no3 and no 5 open when I rev it up a couple of times it squirts a bit of fuel out of no3 and then stalls. when I tryed start it with no3 and no5 blocked it started and only reved up twice and then died, then it wont start so I unnblocked them again and it starts straight up... If you have not done so already, strip and clean the carb, making sure all is standard inside,no blockages or damaged parts.Re check your fuel pressure. Then block off 3,4 and 5 and get it running. My guess is that you have air leaks somewhere combined with high fuel pressure still.Have you also checked the manifold gasket ?. |

Ok Ill have another go today it looks dry out side at the moment LOL, The carb is a reconditioned one. Ill have a go at cleaning it out to make sure thers no blockages . Ive checked for air locks on the manifold gasket and it looks to be ok. The fuel presure is ok at 4psi. http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/hh167/boz-reb-2303/
