took the car to work this morning, the difference in running temperature is simply amazing!

it's smoother to drive for sure, and feels more eager, plus, without the aid of any fans, it warmed up to 73-74 degrees and just sat there! a long uphill stretch on the A3 and it reached about 80 degrees by the top, then instantly dropped back down to 72 at the top.

happy days so far, it's just got to last me long enough to get some enjoyment from it whilst I'm building my SC engine.

Sounds very much like a fuel octate issue while you were in Germany.

The crappy gasket issue might not have helped
