Right,

another update on this...

I've noticed today that the rings I am having made willl not fit the AP type clutch with the larger spring, but this is not a major issue as they come with a ring anyway.

the spacers will be 13.7mm and will work with two turbo springs, but will need reducing to 9.6 for two standard 1300 springs, or possibly something in between. If you know what springs you will be using I can mod them before shipping.

Also due to a miscalculation I have ordered bolts that are too short, however these should be suitable for replacing the strap rivets if you are doubling them up, so I will bung 6 of these in FOC.

I have been busy dismantling verto clutches this afternoon *happy*.

Joe, what are we building the RTS clutch on, the AP or the Valeo?

Right then. I have a pukka AP turbo clutch and a Minispares special I bought from Andy. The Pukka turbo spring is aprox 2.46mm thick while the Minispares special is 2.2mm.

I get the AP spring lever ratio at 2.41:1 and the Valeo at 2.11

lol looks like these fuckers are all over the place.

I have seen two different pressure plates today that will give different ratio's just on the Valeo type.

note I am using the centers of the contact points to measure

As is stands, I think im going to use the AP with the higher leverage ratio

I couldnt dismantle the AP turbo clutch without bending the ring. The rivets have expanded into the spacer tubes. Im just going to use some washers like everyone else

Missed this lol, and I got M8x16 reduced head screws today*laughing*

No worries, im going back there Thursday*happy*

On the spacer front, I have added up that a dark blue spring, a light blue spring and the two supporting rings equals 10.98mm, so 11mm long spacers for me thanks *happy* I can adjust from there with a file*hehe!*

Everything is ready to assemble. I have used three drive straps each, threaded the drive strap fixings in the backplate and the cover and used button head screws. I have now also got the correct length reduced head screws for the spring *happy*

I just need the clutch plate and the flywheel now. Has anyone tested the MED unltrlight jobbie yet ?
