Wish I could have made it to this. We have some fantastic cars on this forum, eh?

Well done everyone, cheers to Iain for sorting it.

Cheers Iain for sorting this weekend out. It was a good weekend.

I also put most of the cars on the scales at the rollers so we can work out the power to weight ratio of all the cars, just to be a bit different.

My car ran well on the weekend, but since fitting a 4psi wastegate spring, I could not get the boost I wanted to run and could only blead off around 19psi, so only running about 23psi.

Also the car is running very rich, I think I need to tweak my boost enrichment map, as it's too aggresive at the moment. The rolling road operator (who I was very impressed with) thought I was loosing maybe 10bhp.

Even so, I'm still happy with my 259.2 banana's with 225 curlywurlys of torque

I still need to need to get off the line, although I am getting better. I only managed 3 runs due to the massive queue's first run was a 13.1, then I did two 12.81's with 117mph terminals. my 60ft time of 2.381 is getting better but still shit going by others on here. (This was on road tyres)

Cheers to all for making it a good weekend

I've never been near a rolling road before, but was impressed with how the RR operators dealt with all those leaky Minis.

I was expecting a bunch of smart arses used to dealing with Japs, but was surprised to find that they were very classic and carburetor orientated.

I'm going to take mine back next week for another go.

I've also never been to a rolling road before, but they where certainly impressive. I was imrpessed with how they would let you make a quick adjustment (usually more boost *wink* ) and then run again.

I'd happily take one of my cars there for seting up.

Yes well done Iain, was a super and nice weekend if a little busy :) as alway with TM there is a nice atmosphere with people getting along, nice to see new faces and put the faces to names on here. well done to all the runners, some of you a feel for as you had some issues including my self, but nothing is ever that easy lol. I too was impressed with the rollers, NOT once car wheels spun on them, all though i was a little worried when someone said my tyres were doing funny shapes under load and the operator made every one step back a couple of paces away from me!! I was gutted about my clutch slip but at this level i can't be to upset i guess just can't help but thing what if for the power and times with out having to pussy foot about with the boost to stop the slip. I did my best 1/4 run as well with my best ever 60 foot time of 2.4 some thing (time slip in car so can't see it atm). I had to lift off mid track in 4th gear for the clutch but it prob didn't cost me much.
Well done on your time as well Jim thanks for the bugger and tea Lora, at the end of the day when it was VERY needed. Also it was a nice touch bring the corner scales, so the power to weight ratios will be good once worked out, minimag will have a super feature for this, that's Jeff R for seeing the potential for this great little event. I hope to see you all soon.
Great figures for the boost Robert. Well done Markgtt for getting 20 bhp more then he thought! Also good figures from Star mag with his standard cylinder head. Mike, top job on 200+ very consistent job mate. Paul S i know you have more in the bag due to some issues, but still very impressive results. And Ben your car to what a figure for the little boost! Sorry if i mist any one my fingers are now hurting!!

Just like to say a big thanks for making me welcome and to agree with others. It was a great day and was good to meet up.

The van was a bit down on power which was dissappointing - most likely due to a last minute change of actuator, a low 10 psi (my choice), and a crap dizzy ignition profile between 4000-4500 rpm which gave a saw profile much like Paul S suffered when we compared graphs.

Mine was around 130 brake and probably the lowest of the bigger engined cars. However, my losses were extremely low which confirmed what VMax had said in July - only 14%.

I was stunned at the powers some of the others were producing it was truly inspiring.

And Jesus, my vans a bloater ! Especially with a fat bloke like me behind the wheel. I'll have to look up what a standard van is and compare it with my pimped ride ! At least I took my 100 kgs of camping gear out before the Pod run on Sunday !

Great organisation, top RR venue - I'd quite happily travel the 100 miles from home again to visit Northampton Motorsport with the van if I need another RR day - top blokes, couldn't be faulted. The facilities are extremely modern and the amount of data fed back on the car was well worth while.

Just need to sort my second attempt at switching over to Megasquirt and wind up the boost controller.

It's just so easy to get hooked.

Top job to Iain and Matt.

Not sure about the buggering goin on but Nick and MarkGT make some lovely bacon sarnies ! Cheers lads.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

What did you technicly minded people think about the lads at the rr, obviously i didnt have a car there (should of made the evo rear wheel drive. lol ) so didnt talk to them.

Richards just said he would be happy to travel back, so who else would, did they realy no there stuff or was it just run up and give you a graph.

The reason for me asking is i got draged along to a evo rr day on sunday morning, and tbh the place and guys were shit, but on the mlr forum they love them.
im glad i went and witnessed it as i wouldnt take my car there.

I have to echo what everyone else has said thanks for organising a great weekend!

The rollers was a very interesting day with a good range of cars and power levels! As with some of the others this was the first rollers session that my car has had, so I was quite nervous!

It made 162 brake in the end which was a bit less than I had expected. I did however manage to get some good logs which did give some good data on how to progress.

My heart sank when it let out the big cloud of smoke I thought he had popped it! luckily it was just the inner
cv boot had twisted and split which fired the grease all over the glowing turbo! Top marks for the guys at NM they ordered me one in and had it delivered to the shop! They were a really good bunch.

Pod was a nightmare though the worst queues i have seen all year. Too many chavs on the camp site and like mark said i don't like been woken up by a car on the limiter in the morning!

After fixing the car on the trailer the night before i only did 2 runs which were both poor! Best run was a 14.3@98 nearly a second and 7mph down on last time i was there. During the run the clutch pedal went very low and i decided not to drive it any more! I have found tonight that the clutch arm has bent again!

All in all a cracking weekend and good to meet those involved!

I think the place is the best rolling road I have experienced, professional and informative, not the usual bunch of tossers you sometimes get.

I will definately use them again.

The other thing is that the figures were believable.

No Baldwin style figures to keep the clients happy, but good honest data.

The guy that ran the cars up was really helpful explained the graph well and was more than happy to work the logger. I was impressed at how much time they took with each car! I will be using these guys again next year.
I asked if they would tune a Mini. They said they will do anything but they mainly do westfeilds and single seaters.
