If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

i wonder if the pod is open for anything on the friday and if they'll let us in then...

also we're assuming that mitp will be at the pod next year, does anyone know for sure?

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Not too bad, £20 for pod, maybe less if you book in advance, £35 for the RR then maybe £30 for the karting? Could have teams and do an endurance type thing for a couple of hours?

I'm pretty sure that for MITP they only allow entry from midday on the Saturday, otherwise you have to pay extra for the whole of Saturday as well - thats how I understood it anyway.

I could possibly speak to the organisers and see if I could get an area reserved for you all to camp in. They'll probably tell me to fuck off, but it's worth a shot...

Jims hit the nail on the head.

We have avon for strip time so i think track time is definitly better.

Courbrough doesnt sound dear at all, a good friend of mine hired cadwelll for us at the begining of the year and that cost 3 grand, granted cadwell staff was included but you've got to make sure you get the numbers.

Another option is ive done a few trackdays with javelin trackdays , they usualy have three 20 min sesions every hour with roughly 20-25 cars per sesion, weve managed to book a sesion for our selves so at least only the people we no are on the track at the same time. pluss they'l do a deal on price that way aswell.

Wasnt bruntingthorpe cheap to hire?

Rick

ps , im in.

Shropshire.

Im in again.

Some track time would get my vote.

how about a RR to see how everyone has progressed power wise, get it on the scales again, then somewhere that could cater for both track and quarter mile times an old air base / field etc.

Just thinking out loud....

I know its a fair bit further south, but what about combe for the track, as there's slark only down the road.

Castle combe always has trackdays etc, also there's a karting place a few miles from combe aswell.

Just a thought.

I will be up for this again. At the same place to give comparable figures! With some fun afterwards track or 1/4 either would be good!

Also just had a look on Combes website, and they will hire the track out to clubs... so it may even be possible to do a TM only day, so lots of track time.

Although, i know alot of you are keen to use Northhampton motorsport again, understandable as the feedbacks been great.

Iain, Guys.

I'm well up again for an event like the one we've just had. It was an incredible weekend, made even more better by the atmosphere and how well everyone got on and mucked in.

I'd be well up for some more strip action but I dont think the 4.5 x 10 S rims on the van can go around corners very well so I'd probably not take her for a spin.

Agree with Mark; if there was a venue like an old airstrip like Colerne (just down from Combe) or Wroughton Science Museum (near Swindon) then both track and quarters could be catered for.

That said, I really like the idea of combining a RR day with a Mini only event at Pod (MITP), especially if we can get some of our European TM members to come over like Jani.

I'm pretty patient and can cope with queues. I'd be quite prepared to set up tents with Oli and a few others but if Jeff can request a fenced off area that would be the dogs and would just save so much agro.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

The ques for the strip at MITP are nothing compared to last weekend, this year i must have done about 15 runs or more on the sunday.

I love the idea of hiring a circuit and having a TM event. However, I know Iain found it hard enough to get just 10 people to commit to this event, it is asking a lot to book a circuit and cover your costs. Having some input into organising a sprint event for the HSA I know it is alot of effort and we were looking at about £1k loss at one point, before a load of late entries made it break even.

I don't want to put a downer on some of the ideas being raised her, but leave the big clubs to run big events. Sure Curborough, Bruntingthorpe with a few people, great.

I think the original concept worked really well, tying in with MITP would be the icing and require very little extra effort.
