That would explain it as it was up and down like a brides nightie

Well,

It's certainly different....

When it works it's quicker, but I get lots of "page unavailable" messages now that I never did before and, tonight, I posted a thread about 15mins ago and it's just disappeared.......

It was a long one so I can't be bothered to try to remember the detail (and I didn't save it before posting.....) so it's lost.

.......

Except when I tried to save this post in case the same thing happened again, the original one re-appeared.

VERY wierd....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Hi Rod,

I would like to let you know the reasons for the issue you recieved.

On Thursday LINX, The london internet exchange was experiencing problems which most internet traffic one way or another is routed through.

We reported on our service blog the LINX issue which has now been resolved.

Many strange things happen when a major exchange has issues and data gets re-routed to various other exchanges as you experienced a delay in data transfer.

This was also the cause of the "page unavailable" every known again.

As i mentioned this problem has been resolved so we should be experiencing no further troubles.

Regards

Rob.

Hello Rob! - Welcome.

For everyone else - WR Rob is our gracious new host - and MD of Wired Remix. As you can see, he's very hands on, and we've spent a few nights up late sorting things out together.

Top work, and highly reccommended.

Welcome Rob,

Interesting explanation for last Thursday.

Shows how we take the internet for granted and assume it will just allways work.

I've got serious issues getting to the site, I can only access it on my mobile phone!

however on my pc, laptop or mobile phone hooked up to my broadband I get page cannot be found no matter what I try.

that to me says a DNS issue, especially as the same phone will work and then not work upon changing ISPs.

I shall do some more testing but there could be people out there who still simply can't see the site at all anymore.

BE Broadband, my phone is on O2, and O2 own BE so very odd.

I've changed my DNS servers from BE to some open DNS servers and I can get on fine now.

Very odd indeed.
