I believe the fastest mini in the world race is open to anything with a mini engine. would be good to see some metro's out against the minis next year. Very little regulations

Post Whore

Near Paris - France

regulations :

*Class A:- ‘A’ Series up to 1275 cc with the original gearbox in its original position as envisaged by the manufacturer in a steel bodied Mini or Mini production derivative, Metro, Marcos etc .

*Class B:- ‘A’ Series 1275-1400cc with the original gearbox in its original position as envisaged by the manufacturer in a steel bodied Mini, production derivative, Metro Marcos etc.

*Class C:- BMW Minis

*Class D:- Space-frame and steel bodied chassis with or without A series engines max 2225cc, or production derivative i.e. Metro, silhouettes, Marcos etc. BMW Minis with non standard engine fitment. (motorcycle engines are prohibited)

Why 2225 cc anyway ?

And does that mean that motorbikes engines totaly rules ?

39) Weight
There is no minimum weight.

Now, that's an unrestrictive regulation !!!

Engine:
a) The engines for the Class D are free i.e. any manufacturer.
c) For class A and B the engine block must be the original specification as fitted by the manufacturer when new ie ‘A’ series or for some Metros ‘K’ series.
d) Over boring is allowed up to the class limit.
e) The position, profile and number of Camshafts and gears are free.
e) Cylinder heads for all classes are free.

K head, here we go !

And the only mention about turbo I saw is in the form and says :
turbo yes / no

So can you run a 1275 K headed turbo and still be in class B ?
