I'm going to try for a shorter bolt, but if that fails I'll cut it down with the dremel.

Is it best to start my cut with the blade resting in one of the V's of the threads or at 90 degrees to the bolt (if you get what I mean)?

Hopefully the dremel will be fine enough to make a relativly tidy job of it. Make's quite tidy cuts when I use it on my shell...
