Have been following the thread and have decided to give it a whirl.

BTW the amount of side to side play with the spacers was rediculous! Will hopefully have the engine in and running by end of Feb so will let you know the results.

Do it Paul,

I hate the thought of rockers flapping side to side between spacers.

Almost forgot, I had to ditch the really short springs between the rockers and the retaining washers on the end as the rockers were pretty much binding on the pedestals with them fitted (the roller rockers must be wider?).

Paul Springs are the only way to go, I have been using them for 6 years now ever since a spacer welded its self between no 4 and 5 valve totally recking a Kent 310 cam on me fitted springs and have never had the problem since,
regards,
Paul.

Yep. I even tried it with the standard washers as they were a bit thinner. It might work if I cut the spring down a bit tho. There is very little movement without them fitted!

I use the mini spares roller rocker which use the standard size shaft, I think I remember uncoiling the same springs to fit over the 5/8 shaft Paul buy can't be 100%

I used standard springs, but i've got the roller tip rockers not the full roller ones.

Maybe try a fastener supplier, see if they do anything (or know somewhere that does).

At work I use a place which will wind springs to your spec, they just need to know either ID or OD, size of wire gauge, and free length. I'm sure you could have some made for not a lot of dosh to suit the larger shaft, that is if somewhere like Farnell or RS can't come up with something off the shelf anyway.
