Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

New challenge boxes are ?425 ive been told *smiley* not hard to get hold of. He said it would be great for what i need but he might have a 2nd hand (but nearly new) dog box on the cards so may end up with that yet, watch this space!
He also said that in a high powered turbo road car the challenge 1st gear would be OTT.

He reckons too long for the road. His workshop is on bit of a hill and he had a high powered turbo in last week and said it wasnt that good to pull off out of his workshop.
1/4's / track days though he said it was fine, i.e. race starts or rolling. Just for a road car it was too long.

Im only using my car for that so not too worried, a long first gear should help.

I've used mine on the road, no problem really, if I had the choice, I'd go for an even longer 1st gear. I suppose it all depends how heavy the car is, and what does he call High power?

It does have a Montego carb and steering colum though, Dave. Maybe I'll get the engine next year.

Wolfie, 3.9 Diff, 1.0416 Drops, 13" wheels is just what I use,. With a smaller radius tyre (mine are massive) it would probably be a bit low geared for what you want.

I've got a nice excel spread sheet which gives you speed v. revs for depending on wheel size, FD, gear etc.

PM youe email and I'll send it to you if you want.

I'd guess at 3.1 or 3.44 being the best diff (well that's what I'd use for a road/trackday car)
