If they dont want to know i'd suggest you mention that they are obviously unfit for the purpose they were sold for and that if they don't exchange them you will have to consider reclaiming the cost of them in the small claims court. May be worth writing it in a letter, but try them on the phone first. I usually try to speak to someone in authority when i have trouble.

I threatend to take O2 (phone company) to court before christmas as they rewfused to give me a refund on a phone i got that did not work correctly even though they had apparently fixed it once. Guess what a new handset that was ?50 dearer than the original arrived on my door.

Forgot to say. Not to sure how you stand on your wheel. It may be worth asking for a discount on the calipers to balance this up.

You been out in the car this weekend ? hows it going ?

Nic, I've got some new minispares calipers to fit, hope mine are ok, I have had two sets in the past but had no problems. do you know where they were leaking from, they may just need nipping up.
I also had to buy a spacer kit for mine, as I run vented disks, when I took the calipers apart, I found some bolts where not much tighter than finger tight.

i've got the minispares calipers too, when i bought the car it was running solid discs, i bought the spacer kit and capscrews holding the caliper together were really tight, 1 of them had locked up and nothing would shift it, and i ended up getting someone at work to drill it out for me!

Was a tense moment as the thought of getting a new caliper wasn't pleasant, turned out ok though and went back together with lots of grease!!

The ones i was on about was a batch of porous castings they had. Good idea to check they are all done up tight, but i guessed you'd have allready looked at this before writing on here.

indeed i did check they were tight! what do you think my name is feeble?? (haha sorry)
it was coming from the piston, you could see where the seal around the piston was deformed.
I could of probably just put a new seal on there, but i dont see why i should, and also it could of been a dud casting or piston.

i didnt fancy finding that out as a small child ran out in fropnt of me.

minispares have taken it back and sent it off to be checked out which was very good of them

Nic,

I agree, SCCR and dump valve are the dogs sounding!

Heater take off (head) into top rad pipe is a must really.. Otherwise No 4 Cylinder can run dangerously hot..

an update:

im now running the turbo coolent pipes from the head, through the turbo, into the top hose, and a rover 214 electric fan (that completely covers the radiator), no mechanical fan and the guess-o-meter has gone
