That is a bargain price. Roughly the same price as the minisport ones and they include metro balljoints and bearings! Hopefully they aren't just telling the customers about progress to keep them happy

That was in 2006. They told me they scrapped that batch as the tests failed

I seriously doubt it!

somewhere

paul, on the last page it says

"We have priced these at £380 + VAT including wheel bearings and swivel joints.

I am just waiting for the first batch to come off the machine, then we will be good to go!" posted jan 2010 :)

i thought the same as you, but had a read on. taken a long time to get them ready, better scrub out the minisport ones from the shopping list, and put the KAD ones on instead!

I am offended that you ever had the minisport ones on your list

Beam axle!

To reduce unsprung weight? *oh well*

A live axle rear end would, but not by much, its still a great heavy beam across the car.

There are pictures on another forum of a set someone has just received.
I doubt he'll post them on here as he (chris-pilling) doesn't like us 'cos we upset him!!

Only one issue with them as far as I can see, they have taper roller bearings - Id want balls (bearings that is)

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

And apparently there is something about making the distance between the bearings larger to remove the preload. Which make me think they will need constant checking. But maybe that it the 'flaw' they found in MiniSports?

It is from the Mk1 forum.

I guess it means all bearing load is dependant on the hub nut torque as the space will no longer keep the inner races at the set distance apart?
I can't see how this will be good for the bearings or indeed the hubs as surely it will force the outer races into the casting more (especially if over torqued).

However I am sure KAD will have good reason (if indeed it is actually the case).
