Re. avgas, i know that the higher octane prevents pinking and or knock, so a higher octane shouldnt really benefit a car thats not pushing the limits of its compression/advance...

so is it just making the burn slower, so more is happening at 90 ATDC?

as this would help improve torque right?

or am i talking twoddle and the difference avgas is making to these cars all in my head?

I would have thought this was potentialy bad as AvGas has a high content of lead which will poison the cat and lambda sensor

We had some avgas left over that we needed to get rid of, so we chucked it in me old mans micra (waste I know) but it went like fuck...normally run on the cheapy tesco's stuff tho so probs not suprising it made a difference.

IIRC, isn't avgas 101 octane?

Just out of interest, would aviation fuel offer any benefits over 98 ron petrol or not? For example the stuff used in light aircraft.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
