Thanks to all for the input.

Back on this clutch upgrade (again).

Going to be tacking this next week, I was gonna use a Metro Turbo pressure plate, but I'm having trouble tracking one down.

My step-son works in a motor factors and according to his catalogues there is some confusion over sizes - he said to me there were three, I can remember exactly what he said. - I'll ask him tomorrow.

Anyone got any ideas on the correct size?

Pressure plate or friction plate?

The metro turbo pressure plate is NLA, Minispares do an uprated pressure plate that is a little less than the turbo one.

Turbo pressure plates are identified by a light blue paint mark, the uprated pressure plate (not turbo) is identified with a dark blue paint mark, standard 1275 has a brown paint mark, and 998, IIRC, is a green mark.

Friction plates are available in two sizes, 180mm and 190mm solid or sprung. The 190mm solid plate is only available from Minispares. don't bother yourself with the sprung units if its a bit of a torque monster

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Bought the 190mm unspring friction plate as suggested, so it's the pressure plate I'm needing.

Is the pressure plate part no GCC679?

Can't post link, using mobile phone.

The catalogue says it can't be used on injection mini unless a modified flywheel is used - is this what you mentioned earlier Spocket?

Thanx for the link Sprocket.

Sorry if I appear to be stoopid, but it was to buy the GCC679 pressure plate and carryout the modifications as given by Sprocket, then it's all good?

As I've already bought the friction plate, I think it would be a waste of money buying the kit as shown on eBay.
