haha soo true, and you always do, unless the car cheats and decides to hit you and your bike, so you get a free trip on there bonnet before it chucks you off, but after 2 or 3 times it starts to hurt and get boring. wereas vans really hurt as you dont get a bonnet just a grille. as for the comment before yours, there are alot of idiots in basingstoke that cant drive, walk in a striaght line on paths, metal railing that force you to slow down. chavs that stand in groups of 20+ on street corners, and a fair few hills. so you brake alot in basingstoke

I always have my rear brake on the right too. I'm a lefty so prefer to have my good hand on the front brake for mountain biking

just bagged meself a bmx off ebay tonight and have managed to fook it already.

anyone got any links to decent forums maybe or just general guides on what bits fit what bikes etc?

all i wanted to do was tightren the front wheel bearing, still felt a bit notchy so took it apart to clean and regrease....now i've got tiny little ball bearings scattered all over the garage.

i ride a big bmx myself, a 24" bike but it rides as well as most bmxs, its an ns suburban with rigids and weighs around 23lbs if that means anything to anyone, i love it but don't ride it much.

Think the only thing you can get confused with is, bottom brackets, theres load of different types and sizes (euro, usa, spanish, mid etc), i would say go on pinkbike but its a mine field of crap but there are good people that can help on there, have a search on google there are tons of bike forums. as for your front hub i can't give you much advice, but if you can't get it back together or you think its fooked then you will prob need a new one as spare parts are difficult to source unless its a common bearing. :)

Another option is the 24" single speed mountain bikes. Rides similar to BMX just a bit more comfortable. (But I am 6'8")

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would ask here.

I want a BMX to improve my bike control and balance as well as just to have some fun. Has anybody got any info on what to look out for and avoid in terms of specs and brands? All I know so far is I want a full cromo frame.

Also, I only have money for a 2nd hand bike. Any recommendations on where to buy? I will most likely have to buy in the UK and try to get it shipped here

I could probably manage about £200-£250. I am aiming to learn to jump better and also mess about with some street stuff. Hopefully I'll learn some skills I can't do on my current bikes
