i think you will find that reverse and 1st gear for a and a+ are the same, some in the a= boxes were fitted with either single or doble bushes, be aware though as some bushes on the single bush formats have been known to come out and jam the box when in service always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

Is it ok to mix these two types of bulk rings? I want to use the nearer one?

can't answer your question matt but just noticed this thread and remembered i have a brand new reverse gear (like the one on the right in your picture on page 1) sat at home which was bought for mine when it was rebuilt many years ago but never needed.

I just rebuilt a box and both types of bulk ring were fitted on stripdown. The genuine rings I bought to rebuild the box with were the type with six grooves. Maybe the other type in your picture are an earlier type? |

Cheers for the offer mate, I migh take you up on that. The 2 reverse gears I have both have different tooth profiles, is yours a JKD one? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

Is there much difference in the metal caged needle rollers and plastic caged, is one better than the other? One of the bloody needle has on astray on my metal one. I have a few spare plastic ones but not sure whether to use them or not?

Good call on the lightness factor. Right plastic it is then, just wasn't sure if the metal ones were an 'upgrade' over the plastic ones.
