Sorry to hear about this after your good start to the day on the track; at least your fine and the mini wasn't touched;

Keith and I were just commenting about how we liked the look of the car as well

you followed us out of Avon into Stratford yesterday - black transit minibus with grey car on back and we commented on how nice a tow car it was and that you would probably follow us most of the way back - we're in Norfolk

nasty mess, all the best in getting it sorted out

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

Spent most of the day fucking around with insurance cos and emptying the car. to be blunt in daylight the car is a fucking mess the front end is nearly 10" further over the passenger side. The 7 series that hit mine was a an x diplimat car, basically bulit proof glass and plated, the recovery yard where my e30 is are famillar with the car and said the car weight is nearly 4 tonnes!! If it hit mine at 70mph thats a hell of a n impact. Im glad i wasnt in it.
If you look in the second pic his car ended up where the croud are stood, its a hell of a distance from place of impact.
Im also supprised and pleased that so many of you had admired the car. Undetered Dave is kindly running me to essex to get an alpine white touring as a replacement!
The Pc that attended last night rang this eve to update me, the guy they arrested blew 135 on the breathaliser, I believe the limit to be 35? They are pressing charges and hes been bailed, but that still leaves me carless and inconvienienced.

Hopefully he gets the heaviest punishment possible, drink drivers are horrible people.

Glad to hear you are getting a replacement. E30s are my favourite cars, even if mine is a bit of a shit heap. Tourings are especially cool

The touring was one of the best ive owned if not one of the least powered, it was a friends car from 03, I think he was as gutted as me.
If you use google maps and search nr32 1ty whapload road lowestoft, use treet view on the rant score corner you can see how bad the impact was for both cars to end up where they did. I did try to play and get the link but faild. sorry.

as prev. said - just as long as you're OK. On the inconvenience note

- as his insurance will HAVE to cough up, check and I'm certain you're entitled to a car while they procrastinate over paying.... their problem getting it back from the drunken twonk later - not yours.

Perfect excuse for a spankin' new tow vehicle while you look around I reckon!

I'm still waiting settlement on mine - over 15months ago! I wasn't in the car but it hit me on the head and knocked me out as it was pushed past *oh well*

Good luck sorting it fella.

Thats a good call - if its a non fault claim, the likes of Accident Exchange amongst others should supply a like for like car till you get your money. It got my courtesy car off them when the audi was damaged - even the threat is likley to get the insurer to settle quickly as that will not be cheap

INSURANCE COMPANIES WHAT A BOC's!!
They rang yesterday pm to "settle" the claim they offered me £527!!! After a very irate conversation they ring back with £725! but wouldnt shift any more despite getting into a very heated discussion with the monkey on the phone. He said I could submit a dispute of the value of the car providing recipts etc to contest thier valuation.
Its cost me £90 to swap the policy from the red to the white e30, and taking into account the loss of earnings and contents damed in the car (which I intend to claim for) and offsetting the cost of the white one im looking at being out of pocket all for being in the wrong place at the wrong time! Nic has sugeested submitting some adverts for cars nearer the value. has anyone got any further advice?
Cheers
Shane

Definitely supply them with adverts for similar vehicles to show them that the value is higher. You could also try going to the other guys insurance company direct rather than dealing with your own and get the claim for the other bits and pieces in directly with them, or via your legal protection company.

If you have a legal protection policy, pass them the details ASAP.

From personal experience (a fair while ago but I don't think the principle has changed) once the driver is actually prosecuted for Drunk Driving, his/her insurance is invalidated and you get nothing from his/her insurers.

In my case, I didn't have a legal protection policy (it was before they became common) so I got nothing....

I suspect the Insurers are stringing you along until they can invalidate the policy.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I have legal Protection on the policy, but it all under the same admiral umbrella (his policy, mine, and the legal cover) maybe they are pricing low as they will be out of pocket? Ive found a few worse example at a higher price on e bay and a national search on auto trader has also came up trumps!
