when i sent my logbook off to change from 998 to 1331 they sent me a letter to say i needed pics, reciept and letter from a garage to say they have checked cc size, i didnt bother and the sent logbook back still as 998 so i thought i bet they put a block on taxing it but taxed as usual.

thing is i can understand if your down grading to fiddle the tax but your not gonna upgrade to fiddle it, also its not from a theft point of view is it coz they dont wanna inspect and obviously dont dive to flying fooks about engine numbers so dont see the point

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Aberdeenshire, scotland.

I actually rang them about this the other day.

All they really need is proof that the engine is in the car.

So if you are friendly with a garage or something, just get them to state that on some letterheaded paper and that should keep the DVLA happy.

Or you could take the car to one of the DVLA centres for them to check free of charge, dont work for me though cos they are miles away.
