If your going to look into this in any depth, Id sugest getting a load of graph paper and an ink roller, and lock the suspension up at ride height before you start.

Only just logged in but beaten to it.

Due to how the suspension settles and the track width will change just jacking the car up and plonking it down is going to give odd results. As above lock it out the suspension at ridehieght and repeat, another alternative if possible and safe is to lift the wheel with a well placed jack on the lower ball joint if wheel offsets allow. but certainly the locking bar to replace the dampers would be better. At work we have a rig for this purpose and a rather trick pressure pad if only I could borrow it!
