Every time I have dealt with the police (be that being stoped or following criminal activity on my property) I can only report positively. I'm afraid my views (expessed earlier) are because of the exact opposite. From when I was a lot younger to being persecuted by a traffic cop who was the brother of my parent's next door neighbour who didn't like me working on my cars (he would wait outside his sister's house to see me leave then follow me and pull me over for no reason), to total incompetence when our house was burgled where they botched the fingerprint evidence even when the property was recovered from a neighbour's house so the CPS wouldn't prosecute, through willful entrapment for a speeding offence (deliberate dangerous driving by an unmarked police car causing me to take action to avoid an accident) to the most recent "visits" by the local plod warning me off because I had written to the Parish Council pointing out the "neighbourhood watch" programme in our village was non-existant - and when I pointed out that he was the first plod to be in our village for over a year he tried to walk into my garage (I was working on the Mini outside the front of it) to see what "I had to hide". Sorry, but 53 years have taught me to avoid the Police at all costs. Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

So best make sure your side of the story is a winning possiion. Many many years ago I was assaulted by two police officers verbaly abused and ended up having to go to hospital to get treated for loss of feeling in my left hand, and this was a traffic stop with no basis as they admitted that they watched me get into my car and followed me from my house (I was on my way to collect my brother from the train station) He saw the whole thing at a distance. Later on in life when I was able to ride my motor bikes I never stopped for the police if they pulled up alongside or put their lights on I dropped it 3 cogs waved and redlined it. sorry but for the most part the younger generation are all C@*&'s and fcuking liers. Even under oath! "a clever dick". I have been watching this thread for a little while, as usuall the "Haters" use footage like this to jump on the hate plod campaign wagon, 99% of the time the stories bandied about are exagerated fair comment that there will be a few occasions when a bad egg cop may have done something wrong usually these guys are weened out and sacked.......... this reporting footage is a Bit like the Raoul Moat bollox about taser being the reason he died....what a load of shit.... what happened to all those reports they just stopped.... the papers and news (ALL OF THEM) always twist things to get a story, get people to buy papers, tune into radio stations, or watch tv channels...... the truth is usually printed but i would say it is 100% only a version of it. mind the bellend on the bonnet needs slapped what if the rangerover had driven away....... my only critisicm would be why not box the car in then approach the range rover chap could have easily ploughed on........ to sum up guys a picture paints a thousand words but 999 of them are open to interpretation peace. The sorry situation is that a great many of the tax paying public, including myself, have little respect for (in particular) traffic police because they too often are portrayed as above.

I have had my own bad experiences with the police and I think too many PC,s have an inflated idea of their own importance coupled with a woeful lack of in depth knowledge of almost anything ! i would not agree with the comment about woeful lack of in depth knowlege about anything.......many traffic cops have to go through a horrific amount of training major exams on mathematics, physics, etc for the purposes of scene reconstruction etc etc. yes there may be the odd Numb Nut......but in comparison to the many berks that they stop and deal with on a daily basis then i think on a whole the numb nut ratio is very small. tax payers can still kill people on our roads, just because you pay tax does not mean you should not be stopped by mr / mrs plod if you are driving like a tool, or there is an issue with your motor. that is after all what traffic cops are for.... the old cleche "HAVE YOU NOT GOT ANYTHING BETTER TO DO" well no actually they have not stopping cars is what they do, they dont even need a reason a simple stop check. I must ask this:- when you are having a problem who do you call (other than ghostbusters) when you have broken down in the middle of the motorway who comes to assist and keep you safe when riots break out who goes in to protect the innocent who risks theyre lives on a daily basis so you can sleep safer at nights..... well it aint bob the builder thats for sure
