A good strong helical with an overdrive 5th, with spares and support available if you break it. |

Everything helical. Overdrive 5th and closer ratios ('S' & 1275GT). That would be the box of my dreams :) [X] nail here for new monitor |

I voted for the I dont care option. If I was to buy a new box, id try and get a 5 speed one - but like others have said they are far too expensive. I use my mini everyday and so s/c isnt an option for me however being able to talk to my passengers and not burn all of my petrol whilst doing 70mph on the motorway would be nice :) Stick with helical drops and noise shouldnt be a problem as 4th gear will remain quiet. Overdriven 5th would be nice though. Ideal would be strong gears, strong casing, 1-3 can be straight, it wouldnt be a problem. 4th 1:1 locked mainshaft so always quiet anyway, and 5th helical overdrive. 9.85 @ 145mph

i looked into it & there are all ready 5 speed gear sets you can fit a honda cbr900 or cbr1000 gear set bang into a mini box & machine out for a bigger bearing, you should check it out. anyone found any info on this conversion?... gona have a look myself because otherwise i don't see a 5speed box as a viable option

I would like a double helical big gear set and drops, alot quieter lots of sa, still be realitivly cheap but very strong, then its suits most people from a road to race box you just use the same one! Drives
