My guess is a Yamha top end (20 valves) so probably R1 or YZF

What I don't understand is the statement that you used off the shelf bike conrods wich I would believe are quite short dealing with very short stroke and high revving engines.

Of course you could have used singles cylinder engine conrod (DR is 82 mm stroke) but they go with 3 parts crankshaft.
I didn't recall reading you have a 9 piece crank ...

So a R1 head and cylinder on top of a matting plate including crank mains.
The two are matted with liners and you also got a billet cranshaft.

Am I right ?

Close enough ?

hee hee, yeah going to Byron again in 2 weeks time, for another 2 weeks hols, it`s a hard life hey?

& no hair drier on it yet, it`s sitting here awaiting it`s place tho , but i`ve just fitted up the new 150hp injected engine into it, playing with all the wires & fuel lines & crap to make that work first, then we`ll look at bunging the blower onto it.

Is a Billet gearbox case & fatter gear-train next on the agenda for your "thing" ???

Playing with a 5-axis machine lately,,, well not me, but a friend of mine is carving up my slab of alloy for the 5-main stroker R1 mini engine... wish i knew what i was doing... you`d be far better at all that than me *smiley* lets do a deal--> i`ll go surfing & you machine my block for me ok?

it`s a bit more involved than i first thought but after stuffing the first one we`ve learnt a hell of a lot, so we`re taking a bit more time with this 2nd one

keep up the good work & hope to see some decent tyre shredding vids soon *smiley*

I was so right !

yeah it`s not hard to work out hey?

The rods are long, they are off the shelf, & they are cheap but strong & yes from a 4 cyl motorbike, & our own 5-main a billet crank & we are starting with a 1435cc , but they are options of (what looks do-able) up to 1650-ish ccs

lots more work than meets the eye tho, i don`t see anyone else wanting one either really, simply because of the cost
but i`m givin it a hit *smiley*

A novel and great idea no doubt.

But what gearbox does it use ? I'd think that area more important.

i do too, but for the moment i`ll be happy to have this thing just finished & able to whack ontop of a std issue st/cr box for now, we have "ideas" about a bike gear-train fitted via a cassette type fabricated housing (for want of a better description), but obviously the original case needs massive mods to accomodate what i want in there, so maybe a purpose built billett case could be next to suit the 20v, especially with turbo etc

i also have a friend that can cast be the block, but i`m already too far into the billet one so no turning back now, but figured i might be able to "re-fashion" a mini case plug, make things a bit fatter & thicker here & there, & set it up to machine centers etc for a healthy meaty 6-speed doggy with reverse

but hey, maybe have it all finished ready for my 90th birthday *smiley*
