Funny, it's just like when the telephone was invented.

Most peoples view points were: "This will never catch on" "I'd rather just talk face to face", and now i'm pretty sure there are more phones than people in the UK.

Facebook, same deal, different decade. It's just another way of keeping in touch with friends and family. Get with the times!

Each to their own I suppose.....

The internet itself (along with associated email) is more than enough for me to keep in touch with friends/family when phone or face to face is inconvenient and forums (like TM) allow people to restrict their communications with like-minded people.

Sites like Facebook however, facilitate......

I been using Facebook recently. Only really to find out what it's all about.

The social networking side of it is crap. You find old friends, you catch up, then you dont communicate with them again. But that's probably me as I generally do not like human beings.

Then you have "friends" who post every few hours about anything on their mind or waht they are doing ....... mentioning no names of course :)

What I have found very good and the reason why I shall keep using it is the cycling. All the big teams and some of the top riders have a facebook presence. It beens possible to keep in touch and get an insight to the behind the scenes stuff that you can't find anywhere else. There have been continuous updates on the TDF, Vuelta and the Tour of Britain.

I have to make myself go on there i find it so boring and full of attention seekers, its just the same shit every day. I'd much rather spend time on here talking about interesting stuff. only use i find it good for is keeping in contact with family living far away.
