If I ever get round to building the engine for my mini, I'l be using an MPi block so will stick a sensor in the factor hole next to teh relief valve straight down into the gallery. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

i generally fit 2 sensors, one at the filter head to know the temp the bearings will see, and one at the speedo housing as it's quite important to know how hot the oil gets as the plastic cages of the bearings don't like temps of more than 110°C. bearing life suffers a lot, and even more with more than 120°C |
