The question is (for me and purists every where) is how many cars can you think that are fibreglas moncoque?

Metal cars with glass bodies are not GRP cars to me.

This of course rules out almost all the ones listed.

The Midas cars are all monocoque construction.

The Pellandini fits into that category too.

Trabbies were mostly cotton reinforced epoxy, so not fibreglass.

The Lotus Elite (not the 1970s one) was CF moncoque, and had the rear suspension tops break through the body on several occasions.

I'm a bit of a Lotus nut, so excuse me for that, but have a certain love for Minis, especially those that have a bit more OOMPH.

Many other Lotus cars were technically mono-coque Cf with subframes made of metal (Esprit, Europa, Elite & Eclat of the 70s, etc but people often refer to the metal bit that mounts the engine , gearbox and wheels as a a chassis. They're technically not, and confirmed by DVLA as swapping a chassis is hassle with them , swapping a subframe (same as minis) thankfully is not.

Of course, all Mini Marcos derivatives are GRP monocoque.

When you look at how thick the GRP is where strength is needed they're pretty tough cookies. Small and light tend to bounce rather than crumple too.

Yep - gets my vote!
