This car has been discussed previously. It did have a supercharger and a turbo but not at the same time.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

My opinion is today's car need more off boost power because of ther weight hence the compromised turbos or / and addition of SC.

We run cars that are at least twice as light and are geared as N/A so the need for an SC to help with off boost motion is of least importance.

The only real big trouble with using vnt on an a-series is: the place it take.
You have to build an custom exhaust manifold and it's still very tight with the small units, a vnt25 one will struggle a lot to find his place,
if I would build it again I would build a long manifold a la janspeed with the turbo over the clutch, but then It is nowadays better to use a twin scroll turbo from a 207 thp/late turbocharged mini.

There are quite a few lads running vnt turbos on the Renault club. From what I believe they take a lot of adjustment to work correctly.
Not something I have looked into though as the turbos weren't cheap to buy!

I was talking to a kid at the Renault world series with a R5 GT Turbo and he had a VNT turbo on that. He said he was getting 18psi of boost just below 2000rpm! He's either mastered the VNT control or he's mastered bullshitting.
