I really like your car. What a Wolf in Sheep's clothing...the smile you must have when driving this on the road must be huge!!

The hillclimb is Kop Hill near Princes Risborough Bucks and takes place on the last weekend in September.I,m planning to be there for the third time this year.
The car crosses the line at about 6600rpm in third, on a 1 in 4 incline ,and usually has the marshalls scattering for cover as it does so !

Out of interest, what is needed to enter this, or is it invitation only? Could be another fun event for a few of the Turbominis lads?

Tom, its a re-creation, if thats the word, of an event that ran in the 1920,s and in 1927 (Ithink) there was an accident which was the prompt to have all motor competitions on public roads banned in England.

The local people have run the event with the accent on pre-war vehicles, but have said that exotic or interesting post war vehicles may be accepted. Because I was at the inaugural event and elicited such interest, they have let me back in (Just as well, as no one could claim an A35 as exotic!)
The road is closed but there is no(official) timing and we are all briefed that any hooligan driving will result in the loss of the event.I,ve got away with it so far.
As far as minis are concerened, Paddy Hopkirk opened the inaugural event and there have been some very original and works replica type minis in the entry.
I suggest that if anyone with a turbocharged or 16v Mini was thinking of entering it stands a better chance if it looks externally pretty standard.

Matty is close enough ?

I did think about taking mine up there Dave, as its only 5 miles up the road. But then I thought my mini isn't really fitting in with the event, condsidering some of the cars going up the hill never made it to the top! *hehe!*

Lat year was crap weather anyway, so you didn,t miss much.

I have enjoyed the mixture of vehicles -we get the Aston Martin Beechdean racers there,Ferrari racers,Veyron _JK has been there with several of his cars and last year we had the original Ecurie Ecosse transporter there with D types, C types ans other exotica all transported there in perid style -worth a look even as a spectator - and its all for charity.

Not very sunny swanage

Very nice! Whats the score with the front brakes? metro calipers im guessing? is the bolt spacing the same??

Funnily enough im just off over to the old mans for the evening, and the next job on the list is brakes on mine ( (well, sort of mine), 1958 four door A35 - only a 948 though im afraid) we're planning on going for normal midget set up, only we're still missing one caliper which is a little frustrating!

My old man also has one, slightly later, 'twas a van once upon a time, but now has a full compliment of windows and a 1098 engine... Im trying to persuade him to let me build up another k headed motor to chuck into his for a laugh, hence the question about brakes (sorry for the waffling, i get there eventually!!!!!!)

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

No, nothing from the MT brakes fits straight on.

If I was doing it again I would go for something like big Ford solid discs and simpler calipers and probably forget about the split circuits too.

Glad you've mastered pics Dave.

The 35 looks stunning as usual.

Hopefully I'll get to see a bit more of the car again soon, seeing as the van is sorted now.

Keep in touch.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.
