I met Oli at BENROSS HQ yesterday while I was over there to reassemble my engine. He was kind enough to take me for a quick spin.

What can I say? Awesome!

I have no doubts this is a 200nana+ motor. At around 1bar it felt like my face was gonna tear off!

GT17 is such a different sensation to the T3 too. Boost builds so quickly and low down the rev range, the power delivery is really smooth. Not like the kick in the nads you get from a T3 around 4000-4500rpm.

Its a really well screwed together car. A real credit to you Oli.

No worries Simon. Its nothing special but it seems to work. I can't take complete credit for it however. I got it off here and just tweaked to suit.

Hi, thanks for the kind comments John and Steve-im filling up-lol *crying* ,(and thanks for not mentioning the faults-including comedy trim that falls off over 15mph, the massive paintwork blisters, cement mixer fuel pump or the stupidly high seats as well *wink* )

Its great just to be able to get out and finally use the thing after 18 months of laying on the garage floor in the cold with paint in your hair and flakes of rust in your eyes, im really really happy with it as a road car, I think your understating your motor there Steve-it makes my car 75% of what it is, your help has been invaluable and even John who I had never met just gave me loads great advice-thanks chaps.

Been out for a tootle in it again today and its just such fun. I didnt set out to push the boundaries, start breaking records or introducing forum firsts, just build meself a nice turbo mini, so if people wish to argue the toss about power figures by all means feel free-I will be out enjoying myself! Its great to meet forum members and talk properly face to face as the forum, ace though it is, can be a little impersonal, so will be looking to attend more meets ect in the future, really would like to do avon for the first time ever. These cars are never really finished, there are some rough edges and things will chop and change but to all those mired in a big build keep at it!

cheers

Sounds like a great car, well done. Avon should be good this year with plenty of high powered potentially quick runs!
