I would have to agree that Hamiton and Alonso are two of the best in the game, and to be the best you have to be single minded. All drivers are single minded, but some seem more able to turn it on and off than others.

I liking Mclaren after this mornings results. Just hope they don't do anything stupid. Roll on 2013 and the return of turbos, hopefully Bernie wont be around by then.

HA, I EVEN LIKE BERNIE. I think I like the stories, controversy and madness of F1.

Also, I do not want tiny turbo motors. Well, I do, but not these inline-4 ones. Esp not with 'only' 700bhp.

He adds entertainment, but wish it was more about the racing. come on artificial rain !!!! lmao when i heard.
Im still of the opinion this is F1 the best of the best. Open it all up, its amazing what these engineers can do with the strict limitation, image what craziness could be created if the restrictions were more open.

Whilst the potential return of turbos is exciting in one way, imo it will mark the beginning of the end.
F1 has never been about money saving or saving the planet. It strikes me as very strange; how the powers that be think that cutting the engines down to 4 cylinders, reducing displacement and adding a turbocharger to be seen to be more "green" will ever work. No one mentions the costs/emissions produced by flying the whole circus from one side of the world to the other constantly, every two weeks for 6 months. Emissions caused by that will be far greater than the output of 24 v8/v10 engines over the course of the season. First they took away the v12’s, then reduced rev limits twice, and now this...

F1 has always been the absolute pinnacle of engine and car development/engineering, and it just doesn’t seem the right direction to take for me. Not to mention the sound - there's nothing quite like a V10 F1 car - how will these 4 pot turbos sound....!

Edit: and yes, artificial rain? What an absolute crock. you couldn't make it up.....!!

I'm going to take a pun....I'll go for Hamilton for the Championship. Be nice to see a non Champion win it, but thats not going to happen.
I'm a Schuey fan, but thats it for him in terms of championships. Alonso is a cock, Massa not consistant. Wouldn't surprise me if this was his last season with Ferrari.
I think Martin Whitmarsh & Button have made Mclaren abit less corporate and more likeable. I think its doing Hamilton the world of good. He seems alot more chilled.
That Jap driver was a wonder to watch last year.

Last 2 seasons of Australian V8 championship has been wetting my appetite. Proper racing.
Anyone seen the video of Button and Craig Lowdes swapping cars this week at Bathurst?
Button set the unoffical lap record. From his comments....I think he really likes the V8 tintops.
Its his second time driving one....wouldn't surprise me when he stops F1 to go over to it.

It worked for the first and half of the second quali sessions then never updated. Also when it was working it was behind the telly, usually it is in front.

Didn't spoil a good session though.

I think F1 would be far more interesting with tires that allowed the potential for the cars to go the whole distance.

I haven't been watching it this morning but I imagine most of the overtaking has been being done during "pit stop strategy"? It's boring "racing" like that.

Position should be decided by passing on the track not in the pits.

A great opener, better than any Bahrain race could ever be. Great to see the Mclarens doing well. Pitty about Button getting stuck behind Massa, without that he would have been 4th.

All shaping up for a great season, excellent.

Much better start to the year than 2010, one thing I can't understand is why is the rear moving wing only on one part of the track, surely if it could be used on all parts of the track could get more passing? Still keeping with the 1 second rule etc

If in doubt... flat out! The words of a true legend
