ive got a 2.0 and it was a nice car, but over the last month ive had to do the clutch and flywheel, i used to drive like a tit so i gess thats why, but its not a job you can do yourself, subframe and all sorts have to come off.
so watch out for that

it might breath a little hevy, keep an eye on the oil.

been told the pistion rings can ware and smoke if its sitting ideling for 10-20 mins.

cheack the middle seat belt as theres a safty thingy where it thinks the seats down or lose so it locks.

on idle the revs can surge up and down around 1000 rpm, this can be down to massairflow or one of the others, i think you can get to all of them.

as far as service there easy, brakes oil filters can all be done on the drive.

good luck.

leacky clutch slave goes from beign a bit of a pain on a focus, to a total c*nt on a mondeo, still a full days shift for me to change and iv done quite a few now(though far from the fastest in teh world lol), seem to go through wheelbearings at a fare rate too, and not particularly cheap, that said, more solid car electronically and mechanically as a similar age vectra :)

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Well I've decided I hate looking at cheep cars; gobsmacked at the number of people who think its reasonable to advertise a car with part history when the last stamp in the book or receipt is 7 years ago and 50k miles ago when the car came out of warranty! The interior is immaculate is another one - were living in a society of blind people!

Bodywork has been described as in good condition with a couple of minor bumps and scratches that you would expect in a car of its age; went to see a Mondeo in Saturday which had more hits than the Beatles. Needed both bumpers replaced as beyond repair, drivers door replaced (not worth repairing) and both rear quarters and the remaining doors repaired for dents, scratches and rust - all on an 03 car with 64k on the clock!

Anyway, I've picked up a 2001 Honda Accord 1.8 Vtec Sport. I've had to buy from a dealer but its got a reasonable history and he is putting 12 months mot on it for me so not too bad I suppose.

cheers for all the advise guys - its appreciated

Rob
