So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Sorry Rod, I've not done any back to back testS on gearbox colours myself so couldnt say for sure. Maybe you could experiment.

Just incase anyone doubts the theory behind engine colour. My 1st turbo engine was blue and made 120hp, since givin it a red undercoat all over and topping with black, the same engine is making 203hp. Although it does get hotter now, something I need to address with strategically placed blue paint.

Granted there has been a few minor tweaks to the spec, but if that's not enough proof I don't know what is.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

After more research I think I have hit on the perfect colour combination for the inline type. I decided gold must be holding me back as I have less than 140bhp, so how about this : red for the head, for power, blue for the sump for cooling and horizontal red and blue stripes for the block, hedging my bets so to speak.

ultimate mod!

paint everything BROWN!

ok - doesnt' seems to make sense, but if you mix the colors, you get an awesome balance of power, coolness, and expensive bling!

(or maybe it will just look like a turd...?)

*happy*
