Its never been an issue, however ive tried a different edis to no avail, the only thing ive done is lengthend the coil pack wiring, however im almost certain the wirings correct, i think im gunna swap the wires over tomoz to double check. Mike

I would have a look at the wiring mate and go from there as you have had 2or3 coils on there and its still the same.

thats my guess.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

My mate has a full working setup, i might sit the cars nose to nose and run his setup against mine. That would rule out either air leaks or leccy problems.

I could do, myself and the austinator were speaking ealier, i think when the manifold was welded up it warped slightly, causing the inlet to cockle when im tightening up either left side first or right side. As the fact is i havent change the at all and it ran prior to removing my clutch. The only thin i did is remove my carb and manifold. I recon its been leaking from underneath rather than on top. Also the car hunted, it would idle on 2 for about 5 secs then rev to about 4000 rpm for a few secs then idle. All by its self?

Sounds like it could be an air leak issue then, ESP with the sideband showing mega lean.

As Tom says, I'd chuck a dizzy in and see if it'll run.

If you also connect up the EDIS, HT leads and coilpack but earth out the plugs on the rocker cover you should be able to put a timing light on each plug and see whether the coilpack is firing the plugs. Had to do this with mine ages ago and allowed me to diagnose bad plugs on 1&2, similar to your prob on 3&4.

Just cable tie the plugs to the head studs or rocker cover T bars. As long as they're earthed, they should fire, even though the engine is running on dizzy.

Good luck Mike.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

have it running and spray a bit of wd40 around the inlet to head joint ,see if things vary ?

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

Right boys, mr austin came round earlier, he discovered that the inlet manifold was sat too high up due to my new manifold with some feeler gauges so after some fettling with the angle grinder we popped it back on and hey presto car fired up and idled nicely. Took it up the road and all seems fine, clutch is still slipping though :( so out the flywheel will come tommorow. Ill fly up to carls to have the lugs taken down 1.5mm and the faces roughed up.

Thanks for the input from everyone ans special thanls to mr austin for once again coming to my rescue, that guy is a legend.
