So, if I fit this Omex or Emerald ECU - are these based on a crank or flywheel sensor?

Does my crank/flywheel have to be rebalanced after fitting this?

I donated, but somehow didn't get the label! :(

ah that brings me to a question sorry to hi jack....

my engine was balanced when it was built, just say if i were to fit a sensor on the crank pulley, can i get it balanced whilst keeping the original balancing of the engine?

look at this if you want to save some money: http://picasso.org/mjlj/

Interesting stuff regarding the home-built ECU...

What sort of inputs does it need?

Aiflow, Exhaust temp. intake temperature...

as its just controling ignition it uses a crank sensor and a take off on the inlet manifold to plumb into the units map sensor

it uses ford parts and looking at the site if you get a built up unit it wont be too complex to install
