Nicest fuel i ever use in a mini with my old na motor was bp ultimate 102, it crackeld popped and banged on over run and pulled like a bloody train, not many places sell the 102 octane fuel but i have found in the mini, dads 335 they ran alot better. Im now torn on what fuel to use in the clio, i used super in it once and it seemed to be more responsive and got slightly more out of the tank (about 10miles) and this deff wasnt down to driving more economically

That is because it has modern engine management with a knock sensor, therefore the ECU detects the fuel is crap and pulls timing out. Because it is NA as opposed to turbo the amount of knock isn't great so the ECU won't pull much timing, and it will still be near enough what it would be on better fuel. Compare to a modern turbo car that will be massively down on power due to the timing pulled out and also possibly boost pulled out.
I have just put my turbo 205 back on the road after winter, it was absolutely awful on the old fuel.

So what your saying tom may account for my clio running like shit since i filled up then, same station i always fill up at just a diff pump. I didnt realise it would make so much diff, its a 1149cc modern turbo engine and it has had some times where it runs guff and others when its sweet as a nut, thinking back its after fill ups its changed.

V power is shite only good enough to run lawnmower on! The only time I used it I melted two pistons! Tescos 98 okay!

So far I have had good results running v-power, very poor running on fuel save unleaded, about the same performance from Bp ultimate as with v-power. I now have a tank of 4 star leaded to get through. The performance gain should be fairly noticeable. My main bug bare is adjusting the timing to suite.
