Right to add to this, ive been out in the motor this morning. Everything good until i hit some humps, after the 3rd humpnthe car started spluttering, thinking back to the over run thing, it was a bump road. When the car splutters i have to rev it up and it splutters and farts then clears up!

Any ideas?

You're carb is buggered. My money is on the float.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I think the float is probably the cause boys, this morn i fired the car up and let it get warm on tick over, i then stood on the rocker cover and bounced the front suspension, after about 5 jumps the car cut out. I then had to have full throttle open to start it back up. Perhaps the float is getting jammed and emptying the bowl. How quickly would the bowl empty on tick?

or its the choke seals.

a long time.. i had mine idling a couple days ago it must have been a couple minutes at least it wasnt untill i tryed to reverse it and it cut out, it was silent... no fooking fuel pump lol

i wonder if the float hight is set massively wrong it caused me some issues in the past with immense over fueling after a short idle

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Does this use the fuel in the feed line or just the float bowl if the valve is stuck closed?
But I know what you mean if you forgot to turn fuel pump on when you set off It doese seem to go pretty far. Unless you drive hard it lasts less that a quarter of the time. I know this is bad and I haven't forgot in a ling time now.

Hang on, you have a wideband gauge but you were guessing whether its lean or rich when you suffer this condition?

Also, 13.5 AFR is rich, what do you mean by 'knocked it down' ? If its rich you should be 'knocking it up' to around 14.5

Unfortunatley when it happened on the road i didnt have chance to check as i was busy keeping it running. Also when jumping on the rocker top its mighty difficult to see the lambda gauge, unless ive got acme eye balls that flop out my head and stick through a pin prick hole to see the gauge! My bad i knocked it the other way colin boyo. Ta mike *happy*
