to me its not about being able to drive on the mass of roads, its about emissions. your paying that price for emissions. i had a diesel fiesta and it also cost me £130 for 6months. i had to send it to its doom even though it worked fully. because i cannot afford that money to run it. but now i have a smaller car which is £20 a year to tax. which is brilliant.

It's not likely to rise massively or quickly, it would be too unpopular. What i don't understand is why people think something for nothing is a is a reasonable request, when all other motorists have to pay. As a guess, a significant proportion of classic car owners have the classic as a second car, so not people who are strapped for cash. Certinally on this forum, most have the mini as a second car.
