Isn't that Chromium plating; Cr6 to be exact?

Anyway, Minispares have the adjustable ones for sale now:

Its not chromium plating. But yes, Cr6 or Hexavalent Chromium salts are used in the pasivation of the cadmium, which gives it its yellow colour, and the real reason why it is now stricty controlled and prohibited process. It's NOT chromium plating though, its cadmium plating as the name suggests *wink* Cadmium is naturally silver in colour similar to zinc.

If you really want to know how nasty hexavalent chromium is, just Google Erin Brockovich or Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinkley_groun...r_contamination

Any part manufactured in the EU requiring plating will be plated with zinc, and not the distinctive gold/ yellow colour of Cadmium plate. Mini master cylinders are a prime example

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I stand corrected...
In our industry they banned Cr6 but never heard about the Cadmium bit..

Learn something every day.
Thanks Sprocket.

I would tend to agree that the minispares on-car adjustable ones are the best, and make setting up the suspension a doddle.

But I have the force Ti off-car adjustabe ones, the off-car bit makes them lighter, and how often do you adjust your suspension?

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
