until this cam up tonight I always thought that involute refered to a reverse angle on the dog to hold it in gear

Just the same, thought was the difference in the dogs. All learning I guess lol.! And gives me a much better idea what is going to end up being strapped up to my waiting engine.!

For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism.

if anybody should be able to give you an idea about durability on the Swiftune box, its got to be Jimster. With 250lbft of torque, its got to be the extreme end of Swiftunes field testing *hehe!*

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Nowadays with modern transmission tooling, all staright cut gears are 'involute' with Quaife and Tranx likely to be the two main companies used in manufacture of the high end gear kits, I'm not so sure where Minispares get their gear kits manufactured nowadays, but at one point it was Tranx.

I believe a bloke brought the Tranx designs for the gearsets when Tranx decide not to make mini gears anymore, so i think its still the same set of gears effectively... just made by someone else.

Im lead to believe the same bloke builds 6 speed sequential boxes and dogboxes also, if you could find out who he is it could be another Dogbox to have a look at.
