I'm sure mine is higher weight limit...but then I passed my test in '89....so might be slightly different

Trailer MAM 1400kg (400kg unladen, 1000kg max imposed load). Therefore 1850 + 1400 = 3250, this is less than 3500kg so "TICK" And 1400kg is less than 1850kg so "TICK". So as a stupid yet true story, I am legal to tow with my Audi and my trailer, yet if I use my Shogun, which has MAM of 2800kg or something, I am not legal, as 2800 + 1400 =4200kg which busts the 3500kg limit. For this reason I'm looking into a +E test to make sure. However if you are considering using your Volvo I would check the MAM as its a big heavy car so whereas my Audi is fine, you could well be very borderline. Jason, yes, the rules I am talking about are for those of us who passed our driving test after the 1st Jan 1997 which is when they changed the rules. You old bastard!!
