I know what you mean, our Mini 30, before it got bent, was a joy to drive.

My clubby estate is great for normal use. With the 1380 torque. Shame about the 3.44 fimal drive top speed is abit down 13.95 1/4 mile on a 2.95 fd. Carnt be that hard to beat! |

Standard is boring. When I rebuilt mine it was standard as it was my first ever rebuild, took me a year to do but after a few weeks of driving it I needed more speed more noise and more 'bling'. So it went down and out with a full fletcher system. Sounded absolutely gorgeous! Everyone I knew could tell when I was coming and everyone waved at me. But after 2 years as a daily and 2 years as a weekend toy I felt I needed some comfort, more space a decent sounds system that you can actually hear over the exhaust! So I bought a daily modern car. Had a few but it's nice to just jump in a car without caring about where it's parked what's the winter gonna be like, a heater that heats up quickly etc. I could never have a thrash around mini. I love them too much. I suppose it depends on what you want. i got nothing but time.. |

As a result of compusive tinkering disorder I admitted to myself a long time ago that I had made the car so impracticle to use on the road that I brought a trailer and now only use it for racing. I now keep looking at Mk 1's as a new project to use as a road car. Is there any hope for me?????????????? |

Ha I'd say no! I said to myself I just wanted a daily to run around in. So I got a polo after I decided to use the mini as a weekend toy. What Happened.. I decided to modify the polo, lowered it 100mm on collies with wheels. Next I though ok let's start again so sold that for a comfortable car as I was fed up of pot hole dodging, I bought an a3 already lowered on collies and wheels : loved it wad really nice. Next I thought right I seriously gotta get an unmodified car. Bought a citroën zx off my boss. That stayed standard but after a few months I got bored of that so I then bought an Alfa sud that had been lowered. So moral of the story we can't leave things alone!! Ha. i got nothing but time.. |
