How do we feel about the "snow socks" that are being sold a lot this year? ASDA was selling them for £20 a pair recently.

I'd imagine they might get you out of a hole. But for driving all the time ?
I cant see them lasting very long driving on a clear road. Also doubt they would be very safe on the road either. They would absolutely be for snow and ice covered roads

Yeah definitely not for general winter use but last year when we had sudden snow fall I got stuck in the carpark at work.

As I say, they'd get you out of a hole. But you could be fitting/removing them quite a lot.

A set of winter tyres are fit and forget. Just depends if you do enough miles etc to justify them though. Although you could just leave them on all winter remove them and save them for next year. So it's not like they get wasted

I've driven in snow in Germany on them (rwd car)and they are amazing.Do fit them to all wheels though.

If you want something that is really good, do not buy the rubbish German M+S tyres. Get some proper winter tyres.

Continental Viking Contact 5 and Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 are the only choices in studless winter tyres. If you can get them in England is another matter...

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
