J37 M1 south entry slip road is good for a quick blast. It's been known for a certain 8v gti to come off the bottom of there at a lepton + 20. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Ive managed to hit 7600rpm 3.1 diff, but ran out of private road, not sure what speed that equates to. I remember Matt sorted out a day at Bruntingthorpe proving ground a few years back. It would be great to organsie another to see what we all get! 139mph with a 19 inch wheel matt. Do you mean 10 inch wheel? I still haven't got my 19s to fit yet? lol https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

Damn rev limiters. Would generally do it in around a mile. 9.85 @ 145mph

You make a good point about the frontal area though. everyone says a mini is not aerodynamic, which is maybe true, but it's very small. Hmmmmmm... My car ran a genuine 100MPH. But I doubt it was anywhere near 85BHP!? Was basically a MG Metro engine with a stage 1 kit bolted to it & a 3,21 diff. If the figures are closeto accurate though... Wow! :) [X] nail here for new monitor |

What you have to remember is that a very slight incline or tail wind can make a massive differance to top speed. This is why for speed records you need to do a passin opposite directions within an hour. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Not a mini but i have had a 335 (310 hp) to 160mph speedo in france twice, it was still pulling hard, but the spoiler was having none of it ;-S. The pug (65hp ish) down hill managed 120 on the speedo at arround 6000rpm, the clio (101hp) has made 105 on the speedo with plenty left on the flat but chicked out going faster.

What relevance has any of that got to a discussion about the top speed vs power vs aerodynamics of a Mini??

At the brunters day that Matt did I managed 129mph on a 3.1 and 13 in wheels with the GPS box. I cant remember at what rpm as I have slept since then! This was when the engine made under 170 bananas at NMS.
