I had a five speed box on my old engine, and I fitted a centering spring from mini spares, and it made getting the gears a lot better, before I fitted this spring the gears where a sod to get, a real pain in the ass, the reason I mention all this is because mini spares say it improves the drive on four speed boxes too, I’ve not yet tried it with my turbo build, as you all know I’ve not finished It yet, and with this engine got a four speed box fitted with the spring, will let you know when I’ve tried It.. Look at a standard selector rod compared to Colins pic. The lug is tapered, cant make out if the forks are different though

I seriously doubt it!

Will have to try that on my minisport five speed box, sounds good was always a bit ify from second to third and back, this quick shift may cure the problem.. Alan
