Had this before but ......a t2 on a metro turbo manifold?...sorted..why bother with a totally crap flowing exhaust "mirage" manifold when a stock item is so much better??..so what if you have to cut and weld the bullkhead, it is nothing a half decent welder can't do on a saturday morning with the prep done by yourself! At last, someone else has voiced what I have been thinking for some time. OK, this mirage kit is all well and good if you really don't want to cut your bulkhead, but I personally do not like the manifold desgned to fit in a space rather than flow. I also don't really like a fabricated manifold on a turbo with high heat gradients. At the moment everyone seems to be wanking over this kit but I don't see that it is as superior as everyone makes out??

Since when has greypride and sumpnut been in the top lot?? Who said they were???
Mirage kit deserves some credit guys - it's filled a hole in the market, and means you can theoretically turbocharge you mini in a weekend - without a welder or angle grinder! Considering the design brief they must've had from the outset, it does what it sez on the packet. If they'd opted to make it so it still needed the bulkhead box it would do the same as a £25 used manifold off ebay - but over 10 times the price! Then you could really give it some abuse... It also goes straight to the far superior T2 turbocharger - saving many hours modding the T3 manifold to accept this unit (and needing access to a die grinder, linisher, grinder, drills, taps, etc)
I'd consider one, but as long as i've got a welder and an angle grinder, I'll take the cheaper (not easier or faster) option... If they cost £300 or whatever, and come with the lifetime warranty, it's a really good deal for a developed kit IMO

Since when has greypride and sumpnut been in the top lot?? i wasnt getting funny there i was just pointing it out, you said you were yet to see a kit in the top turbo ranks, and i was pointing out that none are running... ...and before its said i wouldnt hold my breath for either of us being up in the top lot (no offence sumpnut) im pleased with my kit, did the trick of fitting a turbo in behind the engine without the need to cut the bulkhead and spend hours trying to fit a t2 on to the std manifold its what I wanted on MY car and IM happy |

I really dont see what everyone is getting at. Its designed to fit not flow. Its never been marketed as an upgrade over the origional metro design.

mine is putting weight on at the moment, extra seat, electric waterpump, brace bars, anti roll bars, it should still be light for a race spec car (I hope) On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

It all evens out though Matt - Jon's car might be lighter than yours for example, but i bet he weighs nearly twice as much as you! On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:
