heres the crank sensor and adaptor..

the two holes on the right of the adaptor bolt onto the back of the timing cover at the front of the engine, the lower hole puts the sensor infront of the belt, the upper behind the belt. the allen bolts allow you to adjust the distance from the trigger wheel.

or something like that. i'll offer it up tonight.

£100 sounds like a really good deal for the polewheel and mount, bracket and sensor. Something good from Minispeed at long last!

So does the crank sensor in this application look 'across' the teeth? As in other stuff I have worked on the crank sensor usually looks 'radially' at them (if that makes sense...)

I suppose as long as it sees the tooth/gap then it does not matter which way round it is looking.

turns out the wheel and adaptor are from KAD, had a look at their site and the picture shows i only got half the adaptor...

and whats more Minispeed are refusing to tell me what crank sensor it is, so i've now passed it to my Trading Standards freind.

In the meantime, anyone recognise what sensor it is? Long shot i know..

Mike i might be wrong but i think you need to use the FORD sensor in your picture above when using the MegaSquirt kit.

its only on the picture as i got it with the EDIS pack, its not the sensor the adaptor was designed for, and bloody minispares wont tell me which one to use and want £50 for it.

I've contacted KAD inthe hope they can assist me.

that sensor in your picture looks the same as one off a ford fiesta, bolts in one the front of the block facing the flywheel

AH HA!! just got a reply back from KAD, they can supply the sensor and the missing bracket for £30, so shove that up your ass minispeed, they wanted £50 just for the sensor! You just lost yet another customer.

KAD are always good, i snapped my adjustable engine steady (the LH threaded end, ill let you think how i did it! doh!) i posted it to them and they got the old bit out, put a new tie rod end in and then posted it back for a fiver! Cracking service i must say!!

Wonder what the price on a complete unit would be? Might have to see if they do trade discount! *wink*

Mike - How about changing the title of this post, and giving us an overview of exactly what you can get direct from KAD for what money...

ok, the whole kit (trigger wheel, timing case adaptor, sensor and sensor bracket) is £99.50 inc vat. Bear in mind this is built to KAD's usual high quality, a worthwile purchase for us ECU chaps i think.

hm, ripped off with an incomplete kit that cost more than a complete one, if only i knew KAD did them beforehand. I'll be contacting MiniSpeed next week with regards to shipping me the rest of the kit, but whats the bet i wont get anywhere.

Grey - we're talking about the BLACK sensor? The white one is what's used on the cosworths.

the plate is the kad thing, very simple just a flat bit of metal bent, with suitable holes

then i used the off cut from a set of motorbike handle bars that has been lying around the garage for 7yrs and trimmed it down on my lathe

all nicely in matching gold too!

to hold on the trigger wheel is it just a case of tightening up the centre nut (that takes a C spanner)?

the kad setup may of cost alot, but it allowed me to do 3 weekends work in 1 morning
