I run a progressive AEM setup. worth its weight in gold, but i would never not run an intercooler, thats just daft imho.

Indeed, not my set-up, just a great example of monitoring of everyting. My set-up below.

Jean, Is that a possibilty? EDIT: Seems I can program one of the spare MS3X PWM outputs to drive a solenoid valve :) Just need to build a regulated water supply system. Well, I haven't looked into it but there is a water injection feature in the 'advanced engine 2' menu. Jean The MS3X can be programmed to turn the pump on/off and also control the Aquamist fast acting valve to deliver a controlled amount of water depending on MAP and RPM. So no need to buy the complete kit. Separate components are available from Howerton Engineering. For you Ludites out there, it would appear that even an MS1 can be programmed the same :) Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."

Intercoolers have no wiring to fail, no pumps to fail, no motors to fail, and no water to run out. I wouldn't want to rely on water injection as the only way of suppressing detonation unless there really was no way of fitting an intercooler. |

As You said that you are hoping for for mid to low 14's or maybe a high 13's ?

I run a progressive AEM setup. worth its weight in gold, but i would never not run an intercooler, thats just daft imho. Paul, my AEM setup has a muckle great big pump which has a simple cutout style regulator set at around 150psi but with the very large jets i run its lucky if it can maintain 70psi or so. and as this is at the manifold which is just over 30psi boost, the effective jet pressure is a measly 40psi. What im getting at is you will probably just have to run whatever pump you get flat out on its cutout limiter to get decent atomisation, or fit a very big pump :) Is your pump working properly ? Ive never tested mine for pressure, but I have no issues running two of their biggest jets ( think they're around 650-700cc each ) Although for this year I'm fitting a new pump anyway, as my old one is a few years old. Will also be adding another jet before my compressor. Bought one of the AEM pumps of that Greek seller on egay. The bigger 200psi pump delivered for only £105 ! Was sure it was advertised as the regular 150psi pump though. And for those saying just get a better intercooler. The water/meth does two jobs. It can cool the intake charge, but it also cools the combustion chamber and suppresses detonation when running a setup that is knock limited by fuel, CR or whatever. Intercooling will never achieve that. I have no issue whatsoever with intake temps on my car ( rarely 15degC over ambient under any circumstances ), but water/meth allows me to run more ignition timing and makes a huge difference to performance because of it. 9.85 @ 145mph
