No I hsvnt, that's sort of my plan, I can get some 2.5mm sheet steel, I'm thinking of drilling it out and bolting the cover with nuts and bolts, I think nsla56 approach is the best, don't actually weld to the cover Audi s4 b5 - 470bhp & 486ft lbs

Here's an other idea that i started some time ago, did it slightly different as you can see, cut top and bottom off filter barrel, split it down the front, folded it together welded a new bottom in and formed the top to about 17mm, still to be finished later, hope this helps..

Got a linisher if you would like me to take any wrap out of the rocker cover and if there are any pin holes in the welding lets weld them up

Thanks for the offer, both, craig, the first cover is long gone, and the 2nd, I would just rather start fresh to be honest,

It won't be going back on till the turbo goes on, its 100x easier to get to the oil drain and downpipe clamp with head off.
