that compression test didnt get done yet then *tongue*, atleast half your job is done now no fault finding just fixing :)

i didn't do the last build, so can't say for sure (i should have checked), but i've found a lot of bodges on it (cable tie holding the solenoid together, stuff scred through floor, bodged exhaust etc etc), previous owner shall remain nameless as he's a member, but i doubt i'd buy anything from him again.....

Anyway. HG replacement it is - sadly no time to get it done before MITP :(

Anything I need to look out for on gasket replacement? will it have shagged the turbo too? Oil pressure was still reading well when I stopped,

Do i need to skim? anything else sensible to change at the same time?

Replacing the head gasket isn't a long job, but if you've not done it before it will always take three times as long.

To check whether it needs a skim just hold a known straight edge to the block and head, if it sits flush then it should be okay.

And just make sure you have everything before you start, nothing worse than getting half way through and realising you're missing one carb gasket or something stupid *tongue*

I think i'm right in saying, you want the BK450 cylinder head gasket if your engine is 1300cc.. Alan
